Health & Welfare

Grooming can sometimes be physically and emotionally stressful for dogs, particularly puppies, senior dogs,

overweight dogs, nervous dogs or dogs with existing health conditions. While every care will be taken to

ensure your dog’s comfort and safety during their appointment, grooming may occasionally reveal or worsen

underlying medical issues.

By using Honey Paws Dog Grooming services, you give permission for emergency veterinary treatment to be

sought if considered necessary for your dog’s welfare. Every effort will be made to contact you beforehand;

however, this may not always be possible in an emergency situation. Unless injury or illness has resulted

from negligence, any veterinary costs remain the responsibility of the owner.

Senior, Young & Medically Vulnerable Dogs

Some dogs may find grooming tiring or stressful, especially elderly, overweight, young or medically

vulnerable dogs. Grooming appointments can take several hours and may require your dog to stand for

periods of time.

Honey Paws Dog Grooming will always work carefully and compassionately, but we cannot guarantee that

every dog will comfortably tolerate the full groom. If at any stage we believe continuing would compromise

your dog’s welfare, the groom may be stopped and the full grooming fee will still apply.

Vaccinations

Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog is up to date with recommended vaccinations. This helps

protect all dogs visiting the salon environment.

Honey Paws Dog Grooming may request proof of vaccination or veterinary details if required. We cannot

accept responsibility for illness or infection contracted before, during, or after appointments.

Fleas & Ticks

To maintain a clean and safe salon environment, dogs attending appointments should be free from fleas and

ticks.

If you know your dog has fleas or ticks, please rearrange the appointment once treatment has been

completed. A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to avoid cancellation charges.

If fleas are discovered during the groom, an additional cleaning and treatment fee of £15 will apply. Tick

removal may incur an additional £5 charge.

Coat Condition & Matting

Your dog’s comfort and welfare will always come before appearance. Severely matted coats can cause pain,

skin irritation, restricted movement and hidden health concerns.

Where matting is excessive, clipping the coat short may be the kindest and safest option.

Additional charges may apply for heavily matted coats due to the extra time, handling, products and

equipment maintenance required.

Behaviour & Temperament

Owners must inform Honey Paws Dog Grooming of any known behavioural concerns, including aggression,

nervousness, anxiety or previous grooming difficulties.

If a dog becomes aggressive or unsafe to handle, the groom may be stopped immediately and the full

grooming fee may still apply.

Appointment Times

Please arrive on time for your appointment. Dogs arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to have their

appointment cancelled or shortened for welfare and scheduling reasons.

Pricing

All grooming prices are estimates and may vary depending on coat condition, size, behavior and time

required.

Additional charges may apply for heavily matted coats, flea treatment, difficult handling or additional time

required.

Cancellations

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or appointment changes.

Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full before future bookings can be

accepted.
